After earning a superior rating at the UIL District competition, the Lovejoy High School Marching Band qualified to compete at UIL Area. After the preliminary round, they were chosen alongside nine other bands to compete in the finals round. Despite a strong performance during finals, the band was not selected to advance to the UIL State contest.
