Summer camps reduce summer boredom

Students love summer. The warm air, the long nights, the late mornings, it’s everything that irresponsible teenagers want. Legends are made in summer, when you get your first job or go on a journey with friends to a far away destination. No matter how much fun you can have, though, people still get bored by the time the three months without school are over.

A simple solution is to find something beneficial to do with your time. There’s nothing wrong with going out with friends everyday, but going to a far away place for a good purpose can provide a break in everyday-goings while greatly enhancing your life and knowledge. Going to camps can solve everything, and add a lot more intangible qualities as well.

Whether it be an outdoor or professional camp, they automatically add experience you won’t get in school or at home. Fending for yourself for a week on its own can provide survival skills which you could use for a lifetime, and can be humbling for someone who lives in this district.

Going to an academic camp provides a new and exciting way to learn about a subject area you’re passionate about. There are thousands of summer camps out there, and many of the top colleges in the country sponsor such camps across a wide array of subjects. Chances are, if you have a passion, you can ship yourself away for a month to learn about it. This would guarantee you had a great time, because you can never know too much about something you love.

Traveling to a far away place without people you know can also greatly impact your ability in interpersonal relationships. Being exposed to new cultures can help open the mind beyond what you typically ponder, and the friends you can make at camps will impact your life forever. Because you are with them nearly 24/7, and without parental interference, the bond you can build with your peers is an exceptional way to find new best friends.

It will always be sad to leave a camp behind, and there’s no doubt that some of them are expensive, but going through the experience of surviving, making new friends, and learning something new is well worth the time, even if it is away from your friends at home. You may come back with days worth of stories for the rest of your summer, ensuring that it NEVER gets boring.
