As the Leopard football team gets ready for its second season in 5A, junior quarterback Bowman Sells is seeing a lot more attention on the recruiting trail. Named one of the Dallas Morning News Top 50 area recruits for 2016, Sells spent a few minutes with The Red Ledger’s Darby Blaylock in the following Q&A:

The Red Ledger: How is spring ball going?
Sells: “Spring ball is going well, we’ve been learning and improving everyday.”

The Red Ledger: How does spring ball help regarding college?
Sells: “It gives colleges the chance to watch me play in person since they can’t in the fall. So it allows me to get even more exposure.”

The Red Ledger: What colleges are you in contact with?
Sells: “Texas, SMU, and Houston.”

The Red Ledger: Do you have any plans yet?
Sells: “I’ve gone on some visits this offseason to all 3 of those schools but I don’t have any other plans yet.”

The Red Ledger: Are you still graduating early?
Sells: “I’m graduating after the first semester of next year.”

The Red Ledger: How does spring ball work?
Sells: “We get 18 practices total and then a spring game at the end.”

The Red Ledger: What kind of impact does spring ball have on the school football season?
Sells: “It has a big effect because it gives us 18 practices and a game to learn rather than one extra week in the fall.”
