With most school sports seasons over, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ weekly meetings have also come to a halt for the current school year. However, the last few FCA meetings have had a large turnout leaving next year’s group with a lot of room to grow spiritually. lot of potential.

“Nothing makes me happier than the increase in the number of people at FCA,” senior Sarah Bower said. “When I began to go to FCA my sophomore year, I’m pretty sure the highest attendance there was maybe fifteen to twenty people, so seeing seventy-five people come to learn and worship God makes me so happy.”

Current FCA members are excited about the increase in attendance.

“I think the fact that so many more people are coming to FCA is awesome,” senior FCA leader Maddie Pool said. “I think it cool to see how God’s light has spread through our school so quickly this year.”

Even though several senior FCA leaders will be graduating soon, current members expect the organization to be successful next year.

“I’m sad that I won’t be here next year to see the group get even bigger,” Pool said. “I’m excited because the group is filled with a bunch of younger kids, so it’s good to know that they will be able to come together next year just as strong and have a good foundation to continue to build on.”

FCA sponsor, Shawn Purcell, has high hopes for next year’s group.
“I am very excited to see so many students at FCA,” Purcell said.  “God is really moving in the hearts of many students.  The FCA leaders are doing an awesome job of running the huddle meetings. This is very encouraging for next year, as we will be replacing many senior leaders. I feel the new leaders will pick up and run with FCA next year.”
