It is that time of year again. As the 2014-215 school year is nearing an end, multiple coaches will no longer be on campus next year as head girls soccer coach Misty Benson and head swimming coach Greg Fisher will not be returning to campus next year.

For coach Fisher, the decision comes from wanting to make a change in his career.

“What I told the kids is that I’m resigning because it’s just time for me to make a change in my career,” Fisher said. “I’m going to move on and continue to coach and look for another coaching position at some other place.”

The swim team was disappointed and surprised at the news of their head coach moving on.

“I was very sad when I found out, because he has been my coach since the seventh grade and I’ve formed a really good relationship with him,” freshman Sloan Carevic said. “I was also very shocked, because he’s talked a lot about “next year”, so I never would have assumed there wouldn’t be a “next year” and the team was all very sad because no one expected it.”

The school is also looking for a new girls head soccer coach as the search is on for Benson’s successor.

“My first thoughts were what would happen with off season,” junior Kaylee Grigg said. “I was really shocked as well as the team. No one was expecting it.”
