The Leopard girls bowling team is competing at the state tournament at the Cityview Lanes in Fort Worth this weekend. After placing third in their region, the Leopards enter the state tournament as the 35th seed.

The Leopards will be competing against Region IV opponents Mesquite Poteet, Fairhill, and other familiar schools such as Prosper and Allen.

This will be the school’s first appearance in a state bowling tournament since the bowling program’s existence. Because it is the Leopard’s first trip to the state tournament, the team is going into the competition with an optimistic mindset.

“The team is just trying to do our personal best, because it is our first time going to the state tournament,” junior Shannon Ferguson said.

The team qualifying rounds of the tournament will start at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
