The girls basketball playoff run is over after Monday’s 27-21 Bi-District playoff loss to Frisco Liberty Redhawks at Allen High School.

“We knew we were going to have to give 100 percent,” senior Paige Eberheart said. “We focused on taking one possession at a time to keep us in the game till the end. Unfortunately we came up short, but the effort was there.”

Entering the playoff’s as the number four seed for District 10-5A, the Leopards were thought to be an underdog against the top seed from District 9-5A. Coming into the game, the Leopards knew that they had to play their best game in order to beat the Redhawks who are currently ranked number two in the state. The Leopards kept things close in the low scoring game, trailing 14-12 at half.

“We knew it would be a hard game,” freshman Kaylee Rekieta said. “We knew we had to fight very hard. We got really pumped before the game and made sure our mindset was right.”

The Leopards finish the season with a 14-16 record.
