Arts and crafts store opens in Allen
December 18, 2014
The craft store Michaels has taken over the spot previously occupied by Borders in Watters Creek.
“I know [the owners] have been planning on something for Allen for a couple years now,” manager Dominick Garey said. “Business has been pretty good since we built the store.”
People in the area are excited about the craft store’s arrival.
“I just think it’s a fun all-around store and it’s cool to find neat stuff inside,” junior Riley Smith said.
One of the more popular craft stores around, Michaels is the place to go for all sorts of projects.
“I like to get fabrics there to make things like soft blankets or pillowcases,” Smith said. “I also like to get different colored paint stuff.”
Some people are already thinking ahead to next year and how Michaels could come in handy.
“Michaels is pretty close and convenient,” sophomore Joshua Harrison said. “It might be good for buying stuff to make mums next year for homecoming.”
