Hedary’s, a local Mediterranean restaurant, provides an alternative taste.

There are plenty of places to get a burger or a taco on Stacy Road, but if you want some falafel or curry chicken you have to take a trip down E. Main St. to Hedary’s Mediterranean food.

It wasn’t necessarily a planned trip to Hedary’s, but my mom and I were in the mood for Mediterranean and didn’t want to take the 35 minute trip to Frisco to eat at our regular Mediterranean spot. We weren’t sure if it would be any good, but of course, we were wrong, and Hedary’s rocks.

The service is great. The owner, Buddy, is the nicest guy ever. He sat down and talked to my mom and I and told us his story, showed us pictures of his grandkids, and talked about his family. Buddy and his family are from Lebanon, so you know the food is authentic.

We ordered a mezza plate (hummus, baba ghannouj, tabbuli, falafel, labni, cucumber & yogurt, mixed pickles, and feta cheese) along with pita bread and a side of grape leaves. It came out in no time and the pita bread was right out of the oven. Everything on that plate was wonderful and I ate way too much but I couldn’t stop. I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal.

Hedary’s is now my go-to Mediterranean spot now when I want to stay local. You can’t go wrong with dining in a sweet little pink house.
