A new burger restaurant, Liberty Burger, meets expectations, but can be expensive.

Another burger place is on the scene in Allen as Liberty Burger has taken up residence on Stacy Road next to Taco Cabana. Voted “Dallas’ Best Burger” in 2012 by D Magazine, it was a hamburger for homework

From the moment customers walk into the restaurant, there is a friendly vibe. The door is opened for you, the hostess was polite and it had a cool atmosphere.

There are so many burgers to choose from, diners are likely to need a few minutes deciding. With selections ranging from “The Nooner” (hash browns, a fried egg, bacon and ham) to the “Wild West” (bacon, BBQ sauce, pickles, onions and cheese) there are 11 choices including a build your own option. There are also menu items for non-burger eaters such as a kale salad and a grilled chicken sandwich.

On this day, the featured burger, was the decision. Basically a blue cheese burger; sweet potato fries and tea was also ordered. The burger was cooked to perfection and it wasn’t overwhelmed by the toppings. However, the sweet potato fries were merely decent and not as good as they looked.

IMG_6599Unfortunately, Liberty Burger is pricey with the total for a burger, fries and a drink close to $17. The burgers are huge as is the order of fries, but this place is a little more high-end and it’s not the place to go unless you are willing to spend some cash.

Liberty Burger is a nice place to eat and the food is good, but has its downfalls. A return trip is likely but the sweet potato fries will be avoided and my parent’s money will be used but burger fans should try it out as Liberty Burger has the potential to be a hot spot in the community.
