For the first time in school history freshman were able to take an AP exam as human geography students spent several hours in the gym Tuesday afternoon.

“The test was hard and even if I failed the test, that’s okay because I learned a lot in this class that you can apply to everything,” freshman Leta Sullivan said.

Although the test may have seemed difficult, students felt like the class prepared them well.

“I really thought that I was going fail and no matter how hard I studied I was going to bomb it, but now I realize that this course actually really helped and I am totally ready to just take out WHAP,” freshman Isabelle Isaacs said. “I think I did pretty good on the exam in general.”

As opposed to previous years when world history was the first AP class students had the opportunity to take, now students are more prepared to jump into the rigorous class style of WHAP with the experience of the freshman level human geography.

“This class was a great preparation for WHAP,” AP human geography teacher Homa Lewis said. “They know they need to read and take notes over their reading and be responsible for their schedules. They have learned a different way of writing so I think they are going to do really well.”
