Magic elixir or foot oils

Magic elixir or foot oils

Jayme Allen, Staff Reporter

Apparently this year has been one of the worst years for seasonal allergies, which only adds to the annual torture.

If you’re anything like me, you experience debilitating sinus pain, an eternal fountain of snot, and red eyes.

Allergy season for me means liver damage, as I swallow pill after pill, combining medications that probably shouldn’t be combined. You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do, right? And homeopathic options are bologna, right? WRONG.

Apparently my mom was right all those times she shoved oils in my face, claiming to have found the magic solution to all of life’s problems. Okay, they might not have cured cancer, but they’ve definitely conquered my allergies.

Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint oil applied to the feet twice a day makes all the difference. Where I’d been taking a 24 hour Allegra and 24 hour Claritin D along with the occasional Benadryl, (I was serious when I said I was probably going to end up with liver damage) I was able to cut down to one medication when using the oils.

I definitely recommend to anyone willing to try anything to help with their allergies.

Just be careful not to get the peppermint oil in your eyes. (Actually go ahead and get it in your eyes it feels pretty cool after the first few minutes of burning pain).
