Several track and field athletes will be taking part in the regional meet April 25-26 at UT Arlington after placing in the top 2 at the district meet Wednesday and Thursday.

“Districts are separated into two days and our first day we had two pole vaulters who qualified for the regional track meet,” assistant track coach Jennifer Nance said. “And we also had runners place first and second overall in the two mile which is really good”

This meet was memorable for a couple different reasons with Kendall Joiner setting a school record in the 3200 run (9:31)

“We swept the two mile in JV and varsity receiving first, second, and third place in all of them,” Nance said.

The training and hard work won’t end now as the athletes begin to prepare for regionals.

“I think we did really well and a bunch of people had PR (personal records),” Nance said. “People really peaked at the right time, and we did really well at districts. I think it was a memorable meet for us coaches and runners.”
