Orchestra has been planning their trip to Galveston and Houston to learn more about journalism and reporting.

“We are selling candy to raise money for our trip to Galveston in April,” freshman Eric Miller said.

Previously, orchestra attempted to raise money for their trip by selling $25 back scratchers, but it didn’t go as well as they thought.

“We used to sell the back scratchers but I only sold one and we didn’t raise that much money,” Miller said.

Although the backscratchers didn’t create much profit, they thought of something to sell that almost everybody loves.

“I think it a much better idea than the back scratchers,” Miller said. “Because nobody really bought those but people love buying candy, especially when it is only a dollar.”

The school often has students selling things and raising money for a certain event, and the students seem to enjoy it.

“I really love that they are selling candy because it is cheaper then the vending machines,” freshman Sarah Wallaert said. “It’s easy to get food for me and my friends whenever.”

Orchestra has been planning this trip for months and is excited for it to finally be here.

“We are going down there to visit a clinician and hopefully learn a lot from them,” Freshman Katie Abernathy said. “And we are also just going to bond and have fun together.”
