For most people on campus, the conclusion of a Thursday is a reminder that there is only one more day of school left for the week. But for 35 percussion students, it is a night they have been waiting for as the LISD percussion concert is tonight at 7 p.m.

“We have been rehearsing since early December for this concert,” associate director of bands Nathan Lewis said.

All the practice is expected to pay off in what Lewis expects to be a strong performance.

“This is the most prepared group of players we have ever had in this district,” Lewis said. “We had an amazing dress rehearsal last night and the concert is going to be outstanding.”
