New years celebrations for students

A fireworks display are one way people can celebrate New Years.

Finding something to do on New Year’s Eve can be a chore for those 18 and under. However, there are some things to do for those will to make a trip to Dallas. Here’s a look at a few of those things.

2k14 New Dallas Black & White Masquerade New Year Eve Toast at Stingray’s will be from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Guests are expected to “dress to impress” and to “step up their swagger” at the Restaurant & Grill located on 703 McKinney Ave., Music will be provided by DJ Red X.

New Year’;s Eve Grand Opening at the Arena is another non specified age group celebration. With prices ranging from $30-$2000, this celebration may be a stretch of the wallet. However, music will be provided for a “#ONENIGHTONLY” grand opening and celebration. Reservations are welcome at 234-206-0849

Another celebration where tickets are required, the Colette Dallas New Years Eve Ball 2014 is supposed to be the party of the year. Doors open at 9 p.m. and will feature high energy dance music, a midnight toast and a balloon drop with prizes including cash.

However, if you don’t intend on going to Dallas for your celebration, New Year’s Double in Allen, will be holding their New Year’s Eve Marathon and 5K. Starting on the morning of December 31, all finishers will receive a finisher medal. Another marathon will be held on New Year’s Day.

For those that can’t go to a party to ring in the New Year, there is another option. The NYE Times Square Ball Drop will be aired on channels NBC, CBS, and ABC. The show will start at 3 p.m. and end at 12:15 a.m., with its infamous 60 second countdown starting at 11:59 p.m.
