As the holiday season nears, the need for food and other canned goods at food banks and shelters is especially high with the school’s chapters of the French Club and Key Club trying to help out.

The Key Club is collecting non-perishable donations to give to the North Texas Food Bank.  A collection box located in the commons with Friday, Nov. 22 is the last day to donate to the Key Club’s program.

The French Club is also hosting a food drive until December 20 to benefit the Allen Community Outreach (ACO).

“I was told that (ACO) is very low on food,” French Club adviser Melody Mozley said. “Since it is almost Thanksgiving and Christmas, they try to give meals to as many people as possible for the holidays so all donations are appreciated.”

Those wishing to make a donation can drop their non-perishable items off to the commons or room B102.
