People shrieked in delight as the energetic members from the band Walk the Moon arrived on the stage. Dripping sweat and screaming lyrics, the dedicated fans of this indie rock band instantly became family as they danced with strangers under the blaring lights and thumping bass at The House of Blues.

Walk the Moon delightfully surprised their audience with their upbeat and entertaining Dallas concert. From the moment the four band members stepped onstage, the lights went off in every direction. The way they immediately launched into “Next in Line” to get the audience fired up was perfect. The girls in the audience grew weak in the knees at the first sight of Nick Petricca and the guys fist pumped the entire night long.

The House of Blues was the perfect venue for this quirky band. In a very intimate setting, every member of the audience was engrossed in the concert.  With the use of multiple lighting devices, strobes, and even light up trees that flashed to the beat of Sean Waugaman’s drums, the technical design was absolutely stellar.  A definite technical highlight was the “snow” that rained down on the audience during the song “Shiver Shiver” which only made the fans cheer louder.

The energy exuded from the band and the audience was undeniable. People threw their hands up in the air during “I Can Lift a Car”, felt the beat of the drums in “Lisa Baby” and jumped until their knees ached during “Tightrope”. “Quesadilla” literally made the entire floor vibrate.

One of the most chilling pieces performed was “Iscariot”. This slower song was a break from the intense, party atmosphere. The song was performed with feeling and you could tell it meant something special to the band members. The spine tingling lyrics made the audience sigh in awe. The band made sure to showcase their musical talents by adding extra drum and guitar solos that aren’t in the studio recorded tracks. Every single member pushed himself to do more and more for each song.

Walk the Moon gave an absolutely unforgettable concert that involved every audience member. Blinded by robotic lighting and frantically waving hands, fans belted the lyrics to “Anna Sun”. With sore bodies and hoarse voices, the audience went home humming their favorite tune of the night. Walk the Moon gave downtown Dallas an exciting night out that they will most definitely remember.
