5 fall fashion trends to look for

Fall means getting back to crisp autumn nights, school, concerts and Halloween. Fall can also mean chilly weather. Here are the most recently spotted trends in fashion on campus as the leaves change.

Dashing Denim – You can never go wrong with denim. Jeans are an average clothing piece for any teen, but why not mix it up? Denim shirts and dresses can be found all across campus. The best part of this trend is how toasty it keeps you on a brisk morning when you’re running late. Pair a denim piece with warmer accessories for a comfortable and put together style.

Lovely Lace – Don’t put away your summer dresses just yet. Lace is still in style. Paired with a tough biker jacket or studded boots, lace transitions smoothly into fall. The texture is delicate and feminine, but throwing on heavy layers makes this the perfect girly addition to a fall wardrobe.

Candy Colored Coats – You don’t have to wear a drab coat to keep warm. Fun colors like blue, green and red have been adorning cute coats everywhere. Colored jackets look classy and elegant while still keeping you toasty. Lightweight coats can also be found for when the Texas weather changes and you just need a little protection from the wind. Look for some in candy colors with cute accents like ruffles, belts or prints.

Marvelous Mod – Polka dots and prints are always fun. Channel your inner Zooey Deschanel this season with flirty prints and swoopy skirts. Throwback to the 50’s with high waisted jeans or be inspired by the 70’s with flared jeans and wedges. Mod clothing has been a fast increasing trend seen everywhere on campus.

Dressy Sweaters –  When girls think of sweaters they think oversized, sloppy sweaters with leggings, but who says sweaters are just for lazy days? Paired with a button down or colored jeans make lazy sweaters instantly chic. Sweaters may even be paired with skirts or thrown over a dress to make it girly and fun and still protect you from the cool fall breeze.

Different trends and styles are fun and bring an interesting new way to twist up your personal style. Fall can be hard to dress up, and many of us just grab our worn in sweatpants. But next time you wake up on a chilly morning, put on an outfit that makes you look cute, confident and warm.
