The first Key Club Meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons. Any interested students can attend and are advised to bring their appetite, because this meeting will have ice cream for all.

“Key Club is a social and service organization. It’s for kids to get together and meet kids in their own school, but it’s also to serve others,” art teacher and Key Club Sponsor Amanda Beller said. “We’ll be kicking off tomorrow with an ice cream social to welcome back the old members, and to get to know the new members. We’ll also be talking about service opportunities for the year.”

All students are welcome to join Key Club.  Members of the organization carry out acts of service in the community, such as collecting clothing and organizing food drives.  Key Club members also learn leadership skills by planning meetings, projects, and electing leadership positions in the club, district, and even international levels.

Meetings will typically be held in the lecture hall both before and after school on the second and fifth Tuesday of every six weeks with 25 service hours due at the end of each semester.

If you’re interested in joining Key Club, but are unable to make it to the first meeting, contact Liz Schasel at [email protected] for more information and details on club membership.
