The end of a school year always leads to a certain amount of personnel turnover. The reasons vary, but this year will be no different as a few familiar faces will not be back in the fall. One of those is AP English teacher Natalie Page who is expecting her first child soon. Told by her doctor that she needed to be on “bed rest”, her final day was Monday.
“It felt like it would be the selfish decision if I were to stay teaching because that’s what I want to do,” Page said. “I feel like what’s best for my child would be to stay home at least for a little bit.”
After teaching at the school for 2 years, Page made the choice to leave the school district. Although Page has left, many of her students will remember the amount of effort and hard work she put into her classes.
“She was able to help you regardless of what it was, and she would work to fit your schedule and your needs,” junior Megana Tangelo said. “Whenever you wanted to go to tutoring, you would just tell her, and she was always there to help you.”
The time Page put into her classes did not go unnoticed, as many students recognize and appreciate the way she ran her classes.
“I liked all the activities that we did; we all got in groups for our essays and I think it really helped how we got to grade each others, and she would also come around and give her advice, which was really helpful,” senior Olivia King said. “We’re gonna miss her a lot, but I know she’s gonna have fun raising her child.”
