Soon after assistant volleyball coach Erin McClanahan announced she would be leaving her position to become the head coach at Prosper High School, the inbox of Leopard head volleyball coach Ryan Mitchell began to fill up.
“We posted the job 3 weeks ago,” Mitchell said. “We have received around 100 applicants interested in the job. I want to find someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about the job and is a strong relationship builder with the girls.”
The process of finding an assistant coach to join a team that has won five consecutive state championships is one Mitchell hopes goes fast.
“We are looking for someone that can add to the program and be a good fit with me and my coaching style and beliefs,” Mitchell said. “We are hoping to begin formal interviews next week.”
