This Tuesday, the Varsity Mixed choir competed in and won the Red River Sing Sing-Off at Southeastern University in Durant, Oklahoma.
There was generally positive feedback from those who participated in the event.
“I feel like we did really well and it was a really fun experience to get to go travel and see other choirs that we don’t usually get to hear during UIL season,” sophomore Taylor Todd said.
All the hard work of the choir paid off.
“We ended up winning the competition overall, which was really cool because we were the first choir to compete twice in a row and win both times,” Bradley said.
The choir got a chance to be directed by Dr. Richard Zielinski, the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Oklahoma.
“My favorite part of the whole day was the clinic with the director from OU,” Todd said. “He was really cool and he offered a lot of new insights into our music that we hadn’t thought about before.”
The choir is very proud of their successful performance.
“I think we did really good,” junior Mckay Walters said. “There was some room for improvement, but our performance was enlightening to all those around- inspiring, really.”
