The National Honor society is back up to speed after a summer off, but things have been adjusted and are not entirely what they used to be. The first meeting has already taken place and instead of the normal community service hours due per six weeks this year, the new rule makes them due per semester. The NHS committee is also starting to organize a “Relay for Life” in mid-spring.
There is some confusion of who can be in NHS and when they can join. NHS is for juniors and seniors who have been asked to join and have been accepted through the application process. At the end of the school year letters are sent out to selected sophomores who meet the qualifications for NHS, and those who receive letters are then able to apply and await acceptance.
