Sailing into theatres once again is the classic tear-jerking movie Titanic. From the original in 1997, a new and improved 3-D version of Titanic recently set sail in theatres once again. It was released on Wednesday, April 4.
“I’m excited because it’s a movie I’ve watched since I was a little kid,” senior Brooke Puckett said.
Aside from the sinking ship, the movie focuses on Rose (Kate Winslet) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio). Kate, engaged to a very wealthy man, is on the classy level of the ship while Jack won his ticket through a poker game and is on the less wealthy level. The two cross paths when frustrated Rose has thoughts of jumping off the edge of the boat. Jack finds her, calms her down, and the spark ignites. Even with the disapproval of her family and fiancé, Rose continues to see Jack and the two begin to fall for eachother.
“My aunt is the vice president of Paramount and told me about the 3-D version this past summer so I’ve been planning on seeing it again,” senior Annie Frye said. “Its such a classic movie and I’m excited to see what parts are enhanced by the 3-D elements.”
Some are not excited about the new release of the movie, but the majority of people are ready to swim into movie theatres to see the new release.
“I want to see it because it looks interesting and most people say it’s so good,” freshman Kody Fagin said.
