Same story, different year as basketball falls to Argyle once again

Avenging two losses from earlier this year, the Argyle Eagles beat the Leopards 40-37 in the regional quarterfinals.

A barrage of 3’s by Argyle early on put the Eagles ahead 14-8 after the first, but the Leopards started the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take the lead, only to fall behind 25-23 at the half.

With possessions precious in the second half, the Eagles were content to milk the clock and let time run down the final minutes of the game.

Senior Joseph Gonzales scored 19 points for the Leopards leading all scorers.

This is the second year Argyle has beaten the Leopards in the same round of the playoffs.

The Leopards finished the season with a 29-8 record.
