The playoff before the playoffs

After a convincing 69-24 win over Farmersville Tuesday night the boy’s basketball team enters uncharted territory to determine the seeding for the playoffs. Tied with Princeton and Frisco Lone Star for first place in district, all three teams finished the season with an 8-2 record in district play. In order to break the tie, a coin was flipped to determine a mini-playoff for a chance to clinch the number one seed in the district. As a result of that the boys now have to play Frisco Lone Star Thursday night, with the winner taking on Princeton for the number one seed.

Clinching a higher seed could greatly influence the path to the playoffs with the number one seed getting a firstround bye, and playing less competitive teams. The district playoff starts Thursday night at 7:30 at Prosper, which was selected as a neutral site.
