Lonestar lassos the Leopards

The Lady Leopards faced off against Frisco Lonestar last night, a tough competitor in district play. Just like last week, the stands were filled to the brim with Leopards ready to cheer their team to victory.

Right off the bat it was clear that the Lady Leopards were going to have a close game on their hands. Possession of the ball bounced around very frequently and the score was back and fourth the entire game.

Top-scorers Shani Rainey and Cassie Conarty helped the team fight back against Lonestar’s tough press and intense defense with Rainey putting up 16 points and Conarty with 10.

When the fourth quarter rolled around it was only a 5-point game with Lonestar in the lead. The Lady Leopards  tried to pull out a last minute win but ended up losing 53-48.

Julia Carder is now a senior...FINALLY. She has been dreaming of the day she could walk the halls and push freshman around since she was a little girl. No not really. She’s actually a sweet girl, so be her friend. Julia is a reporter for The Red Ledger with her best friend Jessica Parrott. They’re hard working staff members, but make no mistake, they spend a healthy amount of time online shopping and talking about their problems. Some important facts you should know about Julia are the following: She is an avid Breaking Bad fan, a lover of mexican food and Chipotle, and she is a Texas A&M Aggie. With college coming up around the corner she has already sent in her application and praying for acceptance. However, she is open to OU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and others. She’s pretty chill. She is pumped about her third year on The Red Ledger staff and hopes y’all like what you read.
