Taco Bell brings breakfast
April 1, 2014
The morning of March 27 marked a historical moment for thousands around the world as Taco Bell expanded its menu to include breakfast items.
Taco Bell meals are known for being widely popular and unquestionably cheap but some students aren’t too sure about the new menu options.
“I don’t know about this whole thing,” senior Kiwi Butler said. “I really don’t think it’s going to take off as well as their other foods have, like the Doritos Locos Tacos.”
Many other students, on the other hand, have been counting down the days for the chance to enjoy their favorite fast food for all three meals.
“I’m so pumped about Taco Bell’s breakfast deal because now I can eat from Taco Bell whenever I want,” sophomore Michaela Boylson said.
To get the inside scoop on how this food measures up to expectations, The Red Ledger purchased almost every item on the breakfast menu and had students act as freelance taste-testers.
Here’s what they thought:
Sausage breakfast burrito – “It’s pretty good. I would try it again,” freshman Chris Fisher said. “I didn’t think Taco Bell would ever make burritos of the breakfast kind.”
Sausage crunchwrap – “It’s basically like a flat burrito,” freshman Heather Cantu said. “It was good–it’s pretty spicy, which I didn’t expect.”
Grilled taco – “I loved it. I like how it has bacon and stuff in it’” freshman Eva Campbell said. “I didn’t know they were going to make grilled tacos, but it’s great!”
Sausage waffle taco – “I really liked the taste of the waffle and how the taco had cheese on it, junior Connor Cross said. “The flavors mixed together well and the whole thing didn’t fall apart when I bit into it.”
