With the start of preseason, Lovejoy Varsity Volleyball went undefeated up until Friday, September 5. In the match against Flower Mound, they fell behind. Towards the end they fought back hard, but it wasn’t enough to pull out the win. They lost the fourth match with the final score being 21-25 Flower Mounds point.
Kenzie Rogers, a junior at Lovejoy, has been playing school volleyball since middle school and is a part of the Lovejoy Volleyball team. “I love volleyball because we have such great chemistry on the team and great competitiveness,” Rogers said. As the libero, Rogers is a big part of the team’s chemistry. Rogers has had an amazing experience during the 3 high school seasons she’s competed in.
As the district season nears, the team has a strong foundation for a successful 2025 season. With new and returning coaches and players, the team has been able to show their value throughout tournaments and pre-season game wins.
“This season is going great. We had a really good first district game and the team has a really strong bond. I’m excited to see how the rest of the districts will be and see how we finish the year” states current junior, Camryn Penn. With a great start to the season the team is optimistic about their upcoming district games.
“Our team has been working so hard to get better each day and bond more on and off the court,” said senior Coco Natarajan when asked how the season is going. All of the hard work is paying off, and is a large part of the lovejoy volleyball team’s success so far. This teams’ chemistry and hard working nature is what continues to push them ahead and hopefully will lead to more success later in the season.
