Sophomore Hannah Wyrick
“For Thanksgiving, typically my family from Missouri comes here, but they cannot travel due to COVID. My cousin just had a baby, so she can also not travel. So, we are just staying home alone, and we will be making a small meal for ourselves.”
Junior Sydney Chapman
“My plans haven’t changed that much because most of my family lives here, and we have been seeing them throughout the entirety of quarantine, so we are just seeing them for Thanksgiving, since they are people we normally see. My cousins from Arkansas might be coming, but I’m not sure because I know they have been pretty strict about quarantine.”
Sophomore Braxton Aubel
“My plans really haven’t changed because I’m still having my family over. We are just going to watch football and eat food.”
Junior Ethan Jones
“We are not going to visit anyone this year. It’s just going to be my family. I’m looking forward to my sister coming home from college for Thanksgiving.”
Freshman Katelyn Helfand
“Usually, we have more family over, but this year it is just going to be my grandma because she lives close by. I’m still looking forward to it because we have time off of school, and I get to spend time with my family.”
Senior Maddie Clancy
“My Thanksgiving hasn’t changed much. I’m still seeing my family down in Austin and doing what we do every year while being careful of course.”
Senior Jacob Huettner
“My dad and my brother are going out of town the weekend before, so we are self isolating for Thanksgiving. Usually, I look forward to being around my family, but this year I am already around the family I’m going to be with, so I’m looking forward to the food.”
Sophomore Dresden Colston
“For Thanksgiving, what we are doing differently is we are having a rotisserie chicken instead of turkey because every year we already have so much extra turkey. This year we also might not be able to see as many people because of COVID.”
