“Eat. Energize.”

The motto of the new vegetarian-based restaurant Freshii welcomes customers as they walk through the double doors of the new clean green addition to the Villages of Fairview.

Freshii offers many options, which works for people with a variety of diets. The items on the menu carry some unconventional names, which offer a different aspect when deciding what to order.

I ordered a teriyaki twist bowl, market salad, and a mighty detox juice. Fruit and vegetable juices compose most of the available drinks. The bowl had a savory/spicy flavor, as it retains a good amount of brussel sprouts and broccoli and chicken to complement the rice. The salad was definitely the strongest point of the restaurant, with plenty of lettuce and carrots and a nice twist of avocado and feta cheese. It included just the right amount of dijon dressing, which paired well with the rest of the ingredients.

One of the only problems with the restaurant was the additional price to add meat: an extra $2 to add chicken, and an extra $3.50 to add steak. This place is overpriced if you want to add meat, but that’s not surprising in a vegetarian/vegan audience restaurant.

Considering the limited seating options means Freshii is not the best choice for a family-friendly restaurant. Freshii is not really a super family-friendly restaurant because there isn’t much seating space. There are a lot of four-seaters with half booths and two chairs, but not much for any larger party. It’s more of a place for somebody to get a quick, healthy lunch and eat it in 30-45 minutes.

The style of the restaurant displays a “vintage-modern” look with white oak throughout, yet a very simple logo area behind the front counters. Customers walking in are greeted by a large welcoming wall of turf and lots of white paint covering the rest of the walls and benches.

If you are looking for a southern-comfort chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes on the side, this isn’t the place for you. However, if you are searching for a high-quality ingredient place where you pay a little bit extra for a high energy boost to get through the rest of the day, then Freshii is definitely the place to be.
