Five varsity boys basketball players have been named to the the 15-5A all-district team.

Senior Braden Ledebur and sophomore Kyle Olsen were selected to the first team, while seniors Jackson Carswell and Anthony Vogel got second team. Steven Prudhomme, senior,  was also named as an honorable mention selection.

While many look for individual awards like these to confirm their talent, Ledebur appreciates the recognition but also credits teammates.

“It’s not the most important thing to me, but it is nice to see hard work pay off,” Ledebur said. “I’ve put a lot of time in but the team is really a part of this as well.”

Carswell said these selections represent the commitment of the players.

“It’s a great honor and much appreciated,” Carswell said. “It is important to me because it shows a lot of the hard effort I have put into the game.”

Head coach Kyle Herrema noted the players’ past experiences as reasons why they were selected.

“I’m so incredibly proud of them,” Herrema said. “Their selections were built not this year but years of dedication in the gym. Good things really do happen to good people who work hard.”
