The UIL One Act Play company worked consistently over Spring Break to prepare for their district competition on Saturday, March 19 at Grayson County Community College. Competing against seven other schools, the cast and crew of this year’s production, “Nevermore,” succeeded, advancing to the next round of competition and taking home many awards.

Senior stage manager Sonali Mehta achieved the honor of Outstanding Technician. Technical directer John Davenport, Metha, Nicole Genrich, Lauren LaTour, Mason Taylor Long, and Katherine Carter also worked together in earning Overall Best Tech Crew.

The actors were equally successful, taking home three awards: sophomore Lindsay Haden as an Honorable Mention All Star Actress, junior Trace Glorioso as an All Star Cast Actor, and Jeremiah Barth as Best Actor, the highest honor for a male actor in a One Act Play competition.

The cast will be performing again at the district competition on Thursday, March 24. Performances start at 2 p.m and “Nevermore” performs fourth. The competition will be held at Grayson County Community College.
