The Red Ledger: How do you like senior year?
Kitrell Phillips: My senior year is probably my favorite year than all my other years since i’ve been here.
TRL: How long have you been playing football?
KP: I’ve been playing football since 6th grade.
TRL: Why do you play football?
KP: To let out my anger that i’ve built up inside and let it out on the opposing team.
TRL: How has football shaped you as a person?
KP: Helps me more focus on life and showing me how tough people are usually.
TRL: When did you start dancing?
KP: I started dancing since I was about 8 years old.
TRL: Do you prefer track or football?
KP: Football because I like the physicality of the sport.
TRL: What has been the highlight of your year so far?
KP: Making the football team and doing the Mr. Lovejoy pageant, because those things are something that I had dreamed of since my sophomore year.
TRL: What is something about yourself that not many people know about you?
KP: That really I’m not a scary guy, which I think some people think. I’m really a nice person that you can talk to
TRL: Do you have any siblings?
KP: Yes, I have a 1 brother
TRL: How do you like being well known for dancing and performing in front of the school?
KP: I like to be known as the kid that was unknown at first, but well known for his dancing
TRL: Who is someone in your life that you look up to and why?
KP: I look up to my dad because he has showed me how being a hard worker can pay off, and he gives me wisdom so that I can one day tell my children or some random stranger
TRL: Why did you move to Lovejoy?
KP: I moved to Lovejoy because I knew that the school was a better place that can help with my education and not make it more stressful for me
