Looking Deeper

The Red Ledger: How do you like junior year?

Jensyn Caton: So far it’s not as bad as everyone made it out to be, but there is a lot more homework and physics and pre-cal are really hard.

TRL: What are you interested in outside of school?

JC: I’m really interested in sports, specifically soccer, but I also follow the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, and I love OU. But also what some people don’t know about me is that I like to read.

TRL: What have your learned in high school?

JC: I have realized that grades really do matter, but it is important also to be in other things like sports and clubs.

TRL: What clubs/ sports are you involved in?

JC: I go to FCA every Monday. I’m in PALS so we each have a student we work with at the middle school and elementary schools, then I am also involved in soccer both with the school and for club.

TRL: How long have you been playing soccer?

JC: I have been playing soccer since I was 4 and then started playing club when I was in fifth grade.

TRL: Do you plan on playing soccer in college?

JC: I’m still not sure. It depends what schools I have the opportunity to go to, and also, I really like OU, so I’ll just have to see if I want to go there or a different school for soccer.

TRL: What is it like growing up with a pastor as a dad?
JC: It mainly influenced how my family lives at home and some people really judge me one way or another before they get to know me, but other than that it hasn’t really changed much about me.
