The AP Art Students held an AP Art Show on Saturday in the store space next to Splitsville in The Village of Fairview  with students displaying and selling their sculptures, paintings and photography to parents and fellow students.

“We had more people than ever before,” art teacher Bryce McCasland said. “The space felt really professional because it was super clean and there was more space than usual so you could experience each artist’s work.”

The space featured a white wall and art supplies provided by the art department for visitors to express themselves. There was also a selection of work donated by artists to be auctioned for a charity called KIVA. Parents of art students provided food and drinks for visitors to enjoy.

“We worked on [the space] for two weeks,” artist Dillon DiCristofaro said. “Then we worked to tear everything down. My mom did all the food. She loves cooking.”

The art teachers were pleased with the students’ performance on Saturday. There were a total of 22 kids featured from the AP 2D and Drawing and the AP 3D classes.

“The quality of work this year was better than ever before,” McCasland said. “And that’s hard to do whenever you’ve already had good work. Every year they make it better. It was incredible. I couldn’t have been happier with it. There’s nothing on my wish list I could want more from it and I think that more will happen from it naturally, but it was the best show we’ve ever had.”
