Marvel’s highly anticipated Age of Ultron released at midnight May 1.

With early screenings, massive marketing, and years of hype, Marvel’s Age of Ultron is a contender for being one of this year’s most anticipated movies. Opening Friday, the latest Avengers movie is already a hit on campus.

“I’ve been super excited for this movie since I saw Guardians of the Galaxy,” sophomore Trace Glorioso said. “I really enjoyed it, Ultron was just awesome, it was so much better than I thought it would be. My friend’s reaction to the after credits scene was hilarious.”

The sequel to the Avenger’s first installment was not only a big event to superhero movie enthusiasts, but also to Cinemark staff, as workers there anticipated the release at midnight on May 1 would cause a busy night.

“I worked last night from 6:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and it wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be because we were really overstaffed,” senior and Cinemark employee Bryce McWilliams said. “I think we were overstaffed because of the movie. It was packed though. But from what I heard people saying afterward, the movie was awesome.”

Although reactions to the movie were good, some students feel that the early screening should have had bonus features.

“At the theater I went to they were having a double feature of the first and second movies,” junior Hunter Finner said. “It was done well, but it would have felt more worth it seeing both movies so late if they had some sort of special features. My friends and I have been waiting for this for the past four months.”
