Every arts department on campus has their own moment in their season to shine, and band is no different. On Monday and Tuesday the band attended UIL Competitions at Wylie East High School.

On Monday the Symphonic Band received straight ones in the sight reading portion of the competition and a score of 1-1-2 in their stage performance portion. The Symphonic band is under the conduction of director Daniel King.

On Tuesday, the Wind Symphony will perform at Wylie East High School under the direction of Jeff Jahnke. The bands have been preparing their music for this competition since January of this year.

“I think we did really well, everyone performed at their best and I am very proud of my bandmates,” junior saxaphone player Ian Raybon said. “I think our dedication and ensemble quality really enhance the professionalism of every performance we put on.”
