The Red Ledger’s Darby Blaylock talks to Samantha Odom about the how the basketball season has gone and what the future holds with playoffs.

The Red Ledger: How has the season gone so far for yall?

Odom: “It ended up pretty good because we made it to playoffs. It was a little rocky had a few stumbles had a few games that we shoulda won but over all we still made play offs so yeah.”

The Red Ledger: How and when do yall play in playoffs?

Odom: “We think Frisco Liberty either Monday or Tuesday of next week.”

The Red Ledger: How far do you think yall will go in playoffs?

Odom: “That’s a good question; if we play hard and play our game then I think we have a chance of doing very well.”

The Red Ledger: What’s your favourite memory from this season?

Odom: “I would say senior night. We played on Friday and we won. We did really really good. We played Wylie and it was a really good game, and fun to play.”

The Red Ledger: How does it feel to almost be done with high school basketball?

Odom: “I mean it’s kinda sad but it would be more sad if I wasn’t going on to play college ball but I’ll come back and visit. I’m just gunna miss playing with these girls and how fun it is to get to play for my school. But it’s not as sad as I was expecting.”

The Red Ledger: What are your words of wisdom to the upcoming Lady Leopard basketball players?

Odom: “Don’t give up, because it’s going to be a tough road. It is because they are a really young team so they don’t have a lot of experience. Their experience wont really be there, so pretty much they have to work hard and fight, don’t give up keep pushing. Like my sisters team they only won like two games, but they went to state by her senior year.”
