Harvest is a must-do

Harvest is a farm-to-table restaurant on the Square in McKinney.

Courtney Reid, Staff Reporter

McKinney Square has many restaurants to offer with Harvest, one of the newest additions to the square, being one of the best. A “farm-to-table restaurant” that offers seasonal foods, Harvest is a welcome addition to the area.

When customers first enter they are greeted by two rows of chairs and booths, separated by a low wooden wall. Farther back is a bar and another seating area with decorations that are modern while still maintaining a farm vibe. For example, instead of a napkin you received a wash cloth and were surrounded by photographs of horses and ranches.

The service was excellent. The wait staff was quick and friendly, providing information on the restaurant and willing to answer any questions one might have on the menu.

The food itself was fantastic. The ribs were tender and easily came off the bone while the fish was also well-prepared and wonderful. The french fries would undoubtedly put McDonald’s to shame and the chocolate whoopie cake was rich and creamy. The portions were perfect, not too much and not too little.

The restaurant is more expensive than one might expect, but you get what you pay for. This would not be a place to just go hang out with friends and it would be better for a date or a special occasion as the price per person is about $25.

The Harvest experience is amazing as the quality extends from the food to the service making it a place worth a repeat visit.
