Bad days- come again some other day

Pierce Goddard, Staff Reporter

We have all had them. Those gloomy days that seem to shed no light and have no end. Where you feel like the world is crumbling around you, burying every glimpse of hope in sight. Whether it be caused by a bad grade or a mean friend, bad days really do stink.

Bad days happen and it will seem like your life sucks, and honestly, it might at that point in time, but it’s not long before another terrible day occurs and you retitle that as your new and improved, “worst day ever.”

Sometimes you will be lucky enough to have a continuous number of horrific days. This is when you think your nightmare of a day has come to an end, only to wake up the next morning and it’s even worse. I don’t know if it’s the actual day that is bad or if it is just your mood, but these two undesirable things combined together can make a horrible combination.

Last week, I experienced an abundance of bad days. Everything in my life was not going the way I wanted it to go, and I began to get really frustrated. I just kept telling myself that tomorrow was going to be better and that I just needed to take a big breath and carry on with my day. When the next day came along, it was almost as worse as the previous one. It started to feel like an ongoing cycle, and to top it off, I got sick just in time for the weekend. I look back on this dreaded week and see no positive side. The only thing that kept me going was the fact that the next day might be better, but surprisingly it wasn’t.

All bad things usually come to an end. The sun still came up the next day, I was still alive, and I woke up in my own bed. I’m a very fortunate human being, and I think a lot of us forget that we are. Yeah, bad days happen, and they do suck, but they do end.
