The school will be adding pink to its Friday night football activities this week as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the school store selling pink out shirts to collect money for cancer research.

“This year we are going to have a big pink out football game,” teacher and student council advisor Theresa Dollinger said. “At the game is where we’re supposed to wear the pink out shirts. The teams are all going to be wearing pink and hopefully the crowd will be pink too.”

Staff members at the school are grateful that the students are willing to assist those in need, especially the ones affected by cancer.

“I am very excited that the school is making an effort to promote and to help others who have breast cancer like I have,”  campus technology integrator Donna Lusby said. “It’s for a good cause and I appreciate the work.”

Students are also pleased that the school is trying to make a change.

“I think that the pink out events are great,” senior Madison Campbell said. “They raise awareness for breast cancer which is something near and dear to my heart since I have lost a family member to breast cancer. I’m glad that the school is trying to make a difference.”
