Steel City Pops in Dallas. If you’ve never heard of it, no worries, I’m about to give you the low down. If you’ve never tasted them, you need to, right now.

Popsicles are a delicacy in my life. Growing up, I ate every kind of popsicle, from Bomb Pops on the 4th of July to the cartoon popsicles with bubblegum eyes at my brothers’ sporting events. But Steel City Pops take popsicles to a whole new level.

They make their popsicles from all natural, organic certified ingredients. They only sweeten their pops with raw, organic cane sugar and all pops are gluten-free. They never use artificial colors, preservatives, or flavors; so these popsicles are not the typical ones you buy in the store. Steel City even provides the ingredients to every single popsicle on their website.  There is I no guilt when eating their pops because they’re made with whole, fresh ingredients.

Steel City offers a variety of popsicles, under the categories “creamy” and “fruity”. They have original flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, coffee, strawberry, and peach, but they also have more unique flavors such as buttermilk, sweet tea, and pineapple jalapeno. I’m not quite brave enough to try the pineapple jalapeno but odds are, it tastes just as delicious as the others.

The “creamy” popsicles are pretty magical, with a personal fave to me, the buttermilk pop that tastes like cheesecake. The peanut butter and coffee popsicles are also awesome and creamy too.

At $3 per Popsicle, it is worth the cost. The popsicles are larger than most and the employees at Steel City even cut the pop wrapping for you, which is pretty handy.

Although the drive to downtown Dallas is a little out of the way and it’s not in the most convenient location, take a Saturday or Sunday to check it out as you’ll be thanking your lucky stars as you take your first bite. Trust me.
