Football Preview: Frisco Wakeland

Varsity football will take Frisco Wakeland tonight at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first home game of the year.

The Leopards go head to head with the Frisco Wakeland Wolverines Friday in the first home game of the season. Here’s a look at the Wolverines.

Returning Starters:

8 offense, 8 defense

Strengths:

Returning running back Brent Altieri ran for 873 yards and ten touchdowns last season. The team’s top receiver, Justice Williams, who has offers from Illinois, Indiana, and Mississippi State, had 33 catches for 595 yards and two touchdowns in the 2013 season.

 

Many Wakeland players received honors last year at all-district, including Williams. Previously the backup, Garrett Schulze takes over at quarterback.

 

Notes:

 

Wakeland scored touchdowns on two kick returns and an interception return last week against Lake Dallas.


Brice Lear converted 35 of 36 on extra points and 12 of 13 field goal attempts as kicker last season.
