The library’s new cave
March 5, 2014
A new section of the library dedicated to AP students is now open. Called the AP Cave, it is intended to create an area of the library media center where AP students can study and work with all the materials necessary.
“The AP Cave will house AP test materials for each AP subject and will be a place where students can relax and learn from each other,” Project Director Kathryn Pabst said. “With so many Lovejoy students in AP courses, it will be a location where they can be social and learn at the same time.”
Materials can be checked out overnight for students who choose to form study groups off campus or to work individually. The AP Cave has many different study materials that AP student can refer to and there will be all kinds of books to helps students prepare for the AP test.
“We will have a poster on the wall directing students,” Library Aide Sandi Petty said. “Basically AP students can come and just gather around those tables back there and work. After all, the key to a successful AP student is group work and hard study time.”
The AP Cave will be a space where students will have the opportunity to get an extra edge on the AP tests.
“I think it’ll be nice to have a place I can go during school, or even after, to work on my load of AP homework,” AP student Hannah Warrick said. “And I think everyone could definitely use an extra edge for the AP exams.”
