For the first time in school history, the Mock Trial team has advanced to regional finals with a chance to go to state on the line Saturday, Feb 8.

“Lovejoy has always had strong Mock Trial teams,” coach Jan Delisle said. “But this year, the team worked so hard, they deserved to go on to finals, and I am very confident that they will make it to state.”

The team was one of the 12 teams out of 28 participating that moved forward to the next round. The top three teams in the regional finals will advance to the state level.

“What hard work means in this case is really taking the time to learn the objections well,” Delisle said. “And to respond when an objection is made to the team. To really understand all of the dynamics relating to the case; there’s a lot of conflicting evidence, and the team has worked hard to make sure that we can reconcile those differences.”
