Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm, a popular shopping, dining and entertainment destination for local residents, is undergoing a $2.5 million upgrade that will be completed between late 2014 and early 2015.

The upgrade will include a playground, a 51-foot LED advertisement facing U.S. Highway 75, an additional water feature, a soccer practice field to be operated by FC Premier Soccer, and the addition of 120 residential units and a hotel. Construction is already underway on the majority of the amenities, and the practice field has already been completed.

“We want to offer our community the best experience possible, and offering this additional children’s play area amenity gives our shoppers one more reason to visit Watters Creek,” Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark, the Fort Worth-based company that jointly owns Watters Creek, said to the Allen American. “Families can shop, dine, and enjoy all of the wonderful amenities the property has to offer.”

Watters Creek has become one of the most successful mixed-use developments in North Texas, according to Montesi, and the new state-of-the-art interactive holiday light show will be running through Dec. 31.
