Pandora, the popular music website, is coming to campus as the theme of this year’s annual Pop Show. Taking the stage in the school’s auditorium on Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17, the school’s choir will perform a slew of songs inspired by the popular online radio station.
“Pop Show is the last performance of the year, and we do all modern music instead of choral,” sophomore Whitney Hyde said. “Everyone should come because we’re gonna be awesome.”
Rather than the classically styled music using performed by choir, Pop Show displays the versatility of students in vocal performance that features songs that everybody knows.
“We’re doing songs from Footloose, the song Good Time, Demons by Imagine Dragons and I Knew You Were Trouble and a bunch more,” junior Maggie Compton said.
Pop Show is a chance for choir members to show off their talent and the work they’ve done throughout the year in a way that almost anybody can appreciate.
“Pop Show is kind of like an end of the year celebration,” junior Shelby Johnson said. “The choir gets to sing our favorite songs and everyone comes and listens. It’s always so much fun for both the choir and the audience, so everyone better be there.”
Pop Show begins each night at 7 p.m., with a pre-show beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the school store; $7 for adults, $5 for students.
