With the cold front that swept across the area, it is hard to imagine that baseball season is in full swing, but the Leopards are playing strong through the cold as they beat Royse City 3-2 Tuesday, March 27 in district play.
The Leopard are now 5-1 in District 13-4A having beat Royse City, Sherman, Denison Greenville, Wylie.
Kyle McGuinness threw a complete game to continue the pitching dominance that began last week with Logan Michaels’ shutout over Sherman. The Royse City pitching was tough and it was a duel of the pitchers. McGuinness stayed strong throughout the game, allowing few hits.
The strength of the Royse City pitcher, Dylan McCain, was enough to keep the team from their usual hitting dominance as there were no home runs by the Leopards.
The team faces off against an undefeated Wylie East team on Thursday, March 28. Wylie East is currently first in district.
